LG TVs HD

Welcome to lgtvs.co.uk range of HD television. Above are all the most popular interms of quality and price available from our associates. High-definition television (HDTV) generates so much more of a quality image than a standard television would. Why? Because it builds in a greater number of lines of resolution. The reason the image is so much clearer and sharper from an HD LG TV (usually between 2-5 times) is because the gaps between the scan lines are narrower or are invisible to the human eye.

What is "i" and "p"
A lower-case "i" basically means, the numbers denotes interlaced while a lower-case "p" denotes progressive scan. So if you see 1080i and 1080p although both high quality it determines the way the picture is produced. Using 1,080 lines of resolution that are divided into pairs (interlaced scanning method), starts with the first  540 alternate lines painted on a frame then the second 540 lines are painted on a second frame thus reducing the bandwidth. However the progressive scanning method is slightly differnet as it simultaneously displays all 1,080 lines on every frame, requiring a greater bandwidth.

The appropriate cables (available on this site)
It is important to remember that using HD TV with other high definition appliances such as the playstation3 you will need to use a HDMI cable to get the best out of the systems. Either HDMI or component video cables must be used to support a high-definition signal. Example, Composite or S-Video cables are used for connections from cable boxes or satellite dishes you will only achieve SDTV quality (standard definition). HDMI cables provide the best picture and sound streaming at aperfect 1080p. Component video cables are RCA cables that are color coded for proper signal. They consist of 3 additional video cables (green, blue, and red), two audio cables (red and white), and they carry an analog signal. Lgtvs.co.uk suggest using HDMI cable for a better performance and entertainment value.
